ViewSonic has revealed the ViewPad 7 which will be introduced at the IFA tech show for the first time. Essentially a rebadged of the earlier released OlivePad, the ViewPad will boast a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen and Android 2.1. Couple that with a front and rear facing camera and a SIM slot allowing the tablet to function as in actual fact a phone. Of course one setback will be if the ViewPad is flaunting the same performance specs as the OlivePad. With only a 600MHz processor and 512MB of Ram, the OlivePad is already outgunned by the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Of course with a starting price of just £350 it can hopefully claim to be the best value tablet when compared to the base 3G model of the iPad which comes in at a rather hefty £529. This would then depend on the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tablet which is offering the same in terms of connectivity but a more beefed up 1GHz processor and higher resolution screen.
