Palm, Inc. recently launched the Palm Pre smartphone having a multi-touch screen with a sliding keyboard.It is the first phone that uses Palm’s Linux-based O.S., webOS.Its services and applications helps you to be in touch with the people all around.Its major Functions are GPS Navigation, Camera device, Portable Media Player and Internet client that assists in E-mailing, Web Browsing and Wi-Fi connection.
It has a 3.1-inch LCD Touchscreen that can display 24-bit color with 320×480 resolution (HVGA). The Pre is equipped with 3.2 MP camera having LED flash.It also has a QWERTY Keyboard in addition to the button in the center of the Gesture Area,which is touch sensitive. An Accelerometer is used to automatically modify the orientation of the display whenever the device is rotated by the user.
High-speed networks available are EVDO or UMTS, HSDPA.The other connectivity enhancers are Wi-Fi, bluetooth 2.1 and A-GPS. It is having 8 GB Internal Memory. Future releases are supposed to have the expandable memory slots also.Currently it is available on Sprint it will soon be available on Verizon.
